Stuttering is a speech disorder involving frequent problems with the normal fluency and flow of speech. It can be due to a number of causes including imbalance of chakras, genetic, impatience, stress, anxiety, confusion, nervousness or loss of control while speaking. The symptoms found in speech disorders is trapping words, prolong words or silent blocking and difficulty in starting a word or phrase. If identified at a young age, stuttering can be cured with the below tips and if trying to treat at a later stage, the below tips will help in reducing the stuttering.
Ayurvedic Tips
Brahmi Oil- a stimulant known to calm the mind and boost function of the brain. All you need is 10ml warmed up and then applied to your child’s head before bed, and wash it off in the morning
Paste of black pepper, 7 almonds and sugar candy
Amla- to be chewed on slowly daily. It is an effective remedy for children to stop stammering
Fresh cows ghee (clarified butter) helps with brain development and increases memory. Add a spoon of fresh ghee to food
Learn classical singing as focusing on the notes helps focus the mind
Increase intake of nuts, seeds and cacao powder as these help the brain from free radical damage

Top Tips with a stuttering child:
Don’t mimic the stammering and laugh
Don’t change the topic or pressurise the child
Don’t allow other kids to make fun of them
Don’t keep the child away from other kids so that they don't embarrass you
Don’t ignore the child and hope they will speak normally soon
Don’t ask the child to speak faster or slow down
Don’t ask the child too many questions
Mirror the speak the child should be talking so they don’t feel intimidated
Talk to child at their eye level and take interest in their conversation
Help the child relax
Allow the child to finish their own sentence
Allow your child to feel valued
Give your child positive affirmations
